Andrew Wan

A consummate and accomplished musician, Andrew Wan is active as a soloist, chamber musician and Concertmaster of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. Winner of two Prix Opus recording awards from the Conseil Quebecois de la Musique, his discography includes Grammy and Juno nominated titles. In 2015, he released a live recording of all three Saint-Saens concerti with OSM under Maestro Kent Nagano. As a soloist, he has performed throughout the world under conductors including Vengerov, Petrenko, Labadie, Rizzi, Oundjian, Stern and DePreist, and has performed in concert with several artists, including the Juilliard String Quartet, Repin, Hamelin, Trifonov, Pressler, Widmann, Ax, Ehnes and Shaham.

Wan graduated from The Juilliard School with Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and Artist Diploma degrees and is currently a member of the New Orford String Quartet, Associate Professor of Violin at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, Artistic Director of the Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival. He studied with Masao Kawasaki and Ronald Copes at the Juilliard School. He also teaches at McGill University.
